Louis Knapke
Louis A. Knapke, 83, 5555 Wabash Road, Coldwater, died at 5 p.m. at Celina Manor Nursing Home.
He was born April 22, 1923, in St. Henry, to Joseph and Philomena Pohlkamp Knapke. On April 23, 1949, he married Wilma E. Wendel Knapke, who died Oct. 24, 2006.
Survivors are six sons, Roger (Vicky), Coldwater, Jerry (Mary Ann) and Denny (Zee), all of Celina, and Mark (Cindy), Dino (Carol) and Jim (Carol), all of Fort Recovery; a daughter, Marilyn (Dan) Schmitz, Fort Recovery; two sisters-in-law, Francie and Viola, both of Coldwater; 30 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Deceased five brothers, Florian, Adolph, Albert, Linus and Joseph; a sister, Eulitta Laux; and a grandson.
He was a retired farmer and member of St. Peter Catholic Church and its Holy Name Society.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church, the Rev. Thomas Dorn officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Tuesday and 9-9:45 a.m. Wednesday at Brockman & Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery.
