Alfred Bergman
Alfred L. Bergman, 68, of Yorkshire, died at 6:40 a.m. Jan. 18, 2007, at his residence, due to a sudden illness.
He was born July 27, 1938, in Yorkshire, to Julius and Catherine Seger Bergman. On April 15, 1961, he married Kathleen Helmstetter, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Dennis (Judy) Bergman, Yorkshire; five daughters, Dianne (Jim) Pleiman, Fort Loramie, Shelley (Peter) This, New Bremen, Pam, Maria Stein, Stacy (Brad) Sallmen, Dublin, and Jenny, Columbus; a brother, Edward, Yorkshire; two sisters, Eileen Houser, Duluth, Ga., and Evelyn (Tom) Frantz, Versailles; eight grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Deceased are a daughter, Jill, and an infant brother, Walter.
He retired in 1996 after 38 years of service at Stolle Corp, Sidney, and in 2002 from Classic Product. He also was a farmer and veteran of the U.S. Army and the Army Reserves. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Fort Loramie.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church, the Rev. Steven Shoup officiating. Burial is at Gethsemane Cemetery, St. Marys.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Monday and 9-10 a.m. Tuesday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster.
