Charles Ary
Charles G. Ary, 85, of Arcanum, was pronounced dead Jan. 22, 2007, following a fire at his residence.
He was born June 29, 1921, in Darke County, to Guy and Edith Mae Bunger Ary. On Sept. 13, 1947, he married Carroll J. Myers Ary, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, John L., Arcanum.
Deceased are seven brothers, Ralph, Harold, Raymond, Vernus, Wilbur, Donald and Leonard; and two sisters, Elizabeth Bruner and Edith Mae Little.
He was employed at the former Brown's Service Store, Arcanum, and retired from Arcanum Hardware. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II in the Sicilian and Italian Campaigns. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, American Legion Post 140 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7262, all of Greenville.
Services are 11 a.m. Monday at the church, the Rev. Steve Hays officiating. Burial will follow at Ithaca Cemetery with the Greenville Area Veterans Honor Guard conducting military graveside services.
Calling is 2-5 p.m. Sunday at the Kreitzer Funeral Home, Arcanum.
