Help for Katrina victims
Photo by Shelley Grieshop/The Daily Standard

Larry and Ann Kuhn of New Bremen prepare to stuff books into bags that were crafted locally for distribution to the young victims of Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans. Area residents sewed and donated 175 bags and numerous books for children ages preschool to high school and dropped them off at St. Paul United Church of Christ (UCC) in New Bremen. The gifts will soon be transported to the southern state by a workcamp group of differing denominations including UCC volunteers from the local area.
