Light snow will overspread the area from the northwest this morning. An increased coverage of snow showers is expected to develop this afternoon into the evening hours. Slick spots may develop on roads tonight as temperatures drop and northwest winds gust up to 30 mph. Coverage of snow showers is expected to decrease overnight before ending Monday morning. Most the area will see an accumulation of 1 to 2 inches. Locally higher amounts are possible in areas where heavier snow bands develop this afternoon into early evening.
Roadways may become slick. If traveling, be alert, slow down and allow extra time to reach your destination.

Virginia Maurer
Virginia J. "Ginny" Maurer, 81, New Bremen, died at 8:36 p.m. March 25, 2007, at her residence.
She was born April 7, 1925, near Anna, to Clyde and Sylvia Bates Boyer. On Dec. 20, 1947, she married Victor L. Maurer, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Jack (Adrienne), Fort Wayne, Ind.; four daughters, Lori (Mark) Winner and Kimberly (Tim) Hemmelgarn, all of New Bremen, Pam (Paul) Simon, Anna, and Jane (David) Wyen, Plano, Texas; four brothers, Ralph Boyer, Willis Boyer, Robert Boyer and John Boyer; a sister, Patricia Flinn; 15 grandchildren and a great-grandson.
Deceased are a brother, Harold Boyer; and a sister, Bernice Williams.
She was a registered nurse, practicing obstetric and geriatric nursing, and worked for several area private physicians. In 1943, she graduated from Anna High School and later from Miami Valley School of Nursing through the U.S. Army Nursing Cadet Corps. She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ and American Legion Auxiliary Post 241, both of New Bremen, and a leader for local Girl Scout Troops.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Immanuel United Church of Christ, Kettlersville, the Revs. John Tostrick and Jim Egbert officiating. Burial is at Pearl Cemetery, Anna.
Calling is 3-7 p.m. Friday at Gilberg Hartwig Funeral Home, New Bremen, and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church.
