Robert Parker
Former Celina resident Robert Lee Parker, 72, Cairo, Ga., died April 26, 2007, at Archbold Medical Center, Thomasville, Ga.
He was born July 2, 1934, in Columbus. He married Brenda Houser, who survives.
Also surviving is a daughter, Connie (Larry) VanDeylon, Napoleon; a stepson, Carl (Klairung) Fleming, Cairo; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A Navy veteran having served during the Korean Conflict, he was a lifetime member and past post commander of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7424, Wauseon. He was retired from Sprint, where he was an install/repair technician. After retirement, he was employed at Balfour Lumber Co. He was a 20-year member of the Twelve Step AA Program and attended Macedonia Baptist Church, Grady County, Ga.
Services are 2 p.m. today at the church.
Contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.
