Raymond Schmidt
Raymond S. Schmidt, 84, 14071 Coble Road, Yorkshire, died at 7 a.m. June 30, 2007, at his residence.
He was born March 29, 1923, in Yorkshire, to John and Elizabeth Sturwold Schmidt. On Oct. 15, 1947, he married Viola Prenger, who survives.
Also surviving are four sons, John (Kathleen), of Florida, Richard (Joni) and Henry (Pamela), all of Yorkshire, and Cletus (Josie), Minster; five daughters, Dorothy (Gene) Schwartz, New Bremen, Mary (Joseph) Larger, Russia, Norma (James) Barhorst, Minster, Marge (Tom) Eilerman, Versailles, and Helen (Brent) Goins, Sidney; two sisters, Adella Henke, Versailles, and Henrietta (Sam) Doseck, Fort Loramie; a sister-in-law, Marie, Vandalia; 28 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two brothers, Lawrence and Leo; a sister, Ruth; and a grandchild.
He was a farmer and member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Osgood, and its Men's Sodality.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church, the Rev. David Zink officiating. Burial is at St. Martins Cemetery, Osgood.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Thursday and 9-10 a.m. Friday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster.
