Perry Shepherd Sr.
Perry W. Shepherd Sr., 81, 917 Columbia St., St. Marys, died at 7:10 a.m. July 10, 2007, at his residence, following an extended illness.
He was born May 23, 1926, to Perry and Opal Rehmert Shepherd. On April 15, 1961, he married Patricia Miller, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Bill, St. Marys; four daughters, Carol Shepherd and Tresa (Bill) Scherer, all of St. Marys, April (Darwin) Scarberry, Wapakoneta, and Joyce (Tony) Shinaberry, Van Wert; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Deceased are an infant brother; two sisters, Lucille Earls and Rosella Goldner; and a granddaughter.
He worked for Keeter Charcoal Company and Tri-State Refuse, both of Branson, Mo. and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9289, St. Marys, and for many years served as a member of the Branson, Mo., Volunteer Fire Department.
Services are 2 p.m. Thursday at Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, St. Marys, the Rev. Bonnie Sanders officiating. Burial is at Resthaven Memory Gardens, St. Marys.
Calling is from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
