Floyd Dew
Floyd Dew, 88, formerly of 309 N. Front St., St. Marys, died at 5:50 p.m. Aug. 7, 2007, at the St. Marys Living Center where he was a resident.
He was born May 30, 1919, in Lima, to William and Bertha Lewis Dew. On June 5, 1971, he married Elizabeth Schwede, who died May 29, 2003.
Surviving is a sister, Reba (George) Barbier, Lima.
Deceased are two sisters, Ena Vertner and Nettiemae Sherrick.
He retired from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, working at Lake Loramie State Park for many years, and was previously employed at Lima Locomotive Works. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II serving in the Pacific Theatre with the 32nd Infantry Division, and received a Purple Heart. He was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, St. Marys, Disabled American Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9289, St. Marys, and Cooties Club.
Services are 1 p.m. Friday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys. Burial is at German Protestant Cemetery, New Bremen.
Calling is noon to 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
