Mercer County Fair

Kathy German of Ohio City pours a cup of root beer from her stand on Friday afternoon. The German family root beer stand has been a perennial favorite at the fair for much of the last century. She said the family stand - which utilizes a secret homemade root beer recipe - has served fair patrons every year except during a Polio epidemic and a year in WWII, when sugar was being rationed.
