* WHEN...From 5 AM early this morning to 8 PM EDT this evening.
* IMPACTS...Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

Walter Thomas
Walter "Red" Thomas, 84, 525 S. Mill St., New Knoxville, died Sept. 7, 2007, at Valley Nursing Home, St. Marys.
He was born Sept. 20, 1922, in Hackett, Ark., to Albert and Edith Schlenker Thomas. On June 1, 1952, he married Twylah Eschmeyer, who survives.
Other survivors are two sisters-in-law, Donna Larson and Ruth (Gene) Opperman, both of New Knoxville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Deceased are two brothers, Cecil and Vernie; and two sisters, Sylvia Richardson and Vergie Stout.
He was a U.S. Army veteran and graduate of Hackett High School.
Services are 11 a.m. Monday at Evangelical Protestant Cemetery, New Knoxville, the Rev. David Williams officiating.
Calling is 4-6 p.m. Sunday at Vornholt-Miller Funeral Home, New Knoxville.
Contributions can be made to the Radio Broadcast Fund of First United Church of Christ, New Knoxville.
