Mary McCain
Mary Margaret McCain, 75, of Lima, died at 10:17 a.m. Oct. 21, 2007, at her home.
She was born April 6, 1932, in Allen County, to Lewis B. and Edith Flarida Rempfer. Her first husband, Dudley W. Mowery, is deceased. On July 23, 1957, she married Charles M. McCain, who died Oct. 1, 2004.
Surviving are a son, Mace M. (Barbara), Dallas, Texas; a daughter, Beth (Sheldon) Ralston, Lima; a stepson, Larry (Connie), Celina; a stepdaughter, Sharon Sharpe, Neptune; a brother, Roland (June) Rempfer, Spencerville; two sisters, Alice Culver Fester, Van Wert, and Lewida Jean Fitzsimmons, Beavercreek; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was a clerical worker at Inland Chemical Company and retired in 1974 from the Benjamin Steel Company, both of Lima. She was a member of Bethlehem Christian Union Church, Buckland, where she also taught quilting. A 1950 graduate of Spencerville High School, she attended Bluffton College and was co-founder, past president and treasurer of the West Central Ohio Quilters Guild of Lima.
Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church, the Revs. Delbert Tangeman and Jeffrey Phail officiating. Burial is at a later date at Hartford Cemetery.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home, Spencerville.
Contributions can be made to the Comfort Keepers of Lima or the American Cancer Society.
