Robert Schmitt
Robert "Scott" Schmitt, 42, 625 E. Spring St., St. Marys, died at 4:20 p.m. Oct. 24, 2007. He was killed when struck by a semitrailer along U.S. 33 near St. Marys.
He was born Nov. 27, 1964, in Bowling Green, to Paul F. and Sharon S. Boyer Schmitt, who survive in Montezuma. On Jan. 10, 1994, he married Veronica Evans, who also survives.
Other survivors are two sons, Chazz and Chase, at home; a daughter, Courtney Evans, also at home; and two sisters, Cynthia (Rick) Tolley, Wabash, Ind., and Pamela (Jeff) August, Celina.
Prior to becoming disabled, he worked at Evans Roofing Company and the St. Marys Foundry Co. A 1983 graduate of Celina High School, he served as a member of the U.S. Coast Guard. He also was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Celina.
Services are 11 a.m. Monday at Miller-Long & Folk Funeral Home, High Street Chapel, St. Marys, the Rev. Anthony Cutcher officiating. Burial is at Resthaven Memory Gardens near Moulton.
Calling is 5-8 p.m. Sunday and after 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
