Leona Holthaus
Leona M. Holthaus, 87, formerly of Fort Loramie, died at 8 a.m. Nov. 13, 2007, at the Versailles Health Care Center.
She was born Feb. 2, 1920, in Newport, to Frank and Albina Harrod DeLoye. On Oct. 14, 1942, she married Urban H. Holthaus, who survives at the health care center.
Other survivors are four sons, Dennis, Dayton, Urban Jr. (Theresa) and James (Karen), all of Fort Loramie, and Mark (Mary), Batavia; a daughter, Linda (Nick) Arling, Osgood; a brother, Urban (Bea) DeLoye, Sidney; a brother-in-law, Edward Meyer, North Star; a sister-in-law, Victoria DeLoye, Fort Loramie; 14 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
Deceased are two brothers, Francis and Norbert DeLoye; and two sisters, Catherine White and Margaret Meyer.
She was an artist. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Fort Loramie, and its St. Anne's Ladies Sodality and choir, and served as church secretary for 15 years and as a CCD teacher for 20 years.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church, the Rev. Steven Shoup officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Thursday and 9-10 a.m. Friday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster.
