Ralph Huwer
Ralph D. Huwer, 87, 524 S. Main St., St. Marys, died at 11:55 p.m. Dec. 2, 2007, at St. Marys Living Center.
He was born Oct. 19, 1920, in St. Marys, to William and Mary Bernard Huwer. In 1941, he married Mary Roebuck, who died in 1985. On March 28, 1987, he married Ruth Makley, who survives.
Other survivors are two sons, Richard, Boca Raton, Fla., and William, Pembrooke Pines, Fla.; four daughters, Karen Taylor, Ocala, Fla., Jean (William) Harmon, Grandberry, Texas, Rita, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Susan Norman, Detroit, Mich.; two stepsons, Thomas (Taffy) Makley, Spencerville, and Timothy (Julie) Makley, New Knoxville; two stepdaughters, Rebecca (Marvin) Watercutter, Celina, and Sarah (Jack) Schrolucke, New Knoxville; two brothers, Charles (Dorothy), St. Marys, and Harold, Kettering; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a daughter, Mary Ann; a brother, Clarence; a grandchild and a great-grandchild.
He retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., St. Marys, and owned and operated a storm window business for many years. A 1939 graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School, he was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, St. Marys, and St. Theresa's Catholic Church, Bellview, Fla. He also was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Bellview, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aeries 767, St. Marys.
Funeral Mass is 11 a.m. Friday at the St. Marys church, the Rev. Anthony Cutcher officiating. Burial is at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Bellview.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, St. Marys.
