Alvira Koester
Alvira M. "Vera" Koester, 87, died at 1:15 p.m. Jan. 22, 2008, at the Versailles Health Care Center.
She was born Dec. 18, 1920, to Frank and Wilhemina Daniel Liesner. On Oct. 9, 1941, she married George Koester, who survives in Minster.
Other survivors are two daughters, Ann (Bill) Ernst and Sue (Kurt) Kremer, all of Minster; six grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Deceased are five brothers, Harry, Al, Lawrence, Leonard and Emil Liesner.
She had been employed at the former Autokraft Box Corp. and the former Shenks Dry Goods Store, both in Minster. She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster.
Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. Rick Nieberding officiating.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Friday and 9-9:30 a.m. Saturday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster.
