Brrrrrr, one at a time
Photo by Janie Southard/The Daily Standard

Thank heaven for Carhartts, says Phil Wharry, an employee of Alexander & Bebout of Van Wert, as he places cedar shingles by hand one at a time Wednesday afternoon on St. Marys' Memorial Bridge. The old split shingles needed replacing. When they were removed they were dropped into the structure attached to the bridge to prevent them from going into the St. Marys River. The $22,850 project is expected to be completed in another week or so, weather permitting.
