Light snow is expected to develop across the area after midnight, shifting to the southeast through the predawn hours. This band of light snow will affect the Tri-State region by the Thursday morning commute, eventually pushing south of the area by mid- morning.
Minor snow accumulations of less than an inch are expected, but cold ground conditions will allow for quick accumulation on any untreated surfaces. The main impacts are expected to be reduced visibilities and some slick spots on untreated surfaces.
Motorists should exercise caution. Plan extra time for the Thursday morning commute.

Pat Williams
Pat Williams, 68, of Rockford, died at 10:30 p.m. April 4, 2008, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.
She was born March 7, 1940, in Rockford to Leland and Evaline VanTilburg Frysinger. On Aug. 9, 1959, she married Thomas E. Williams, who survives.
Other survivors are, a son Todd (Jill); a daughter, Darla (Marvin) Hammit, all of Rockford; a sister, Vivian Beckstedt, Celina; and a grandchild.
Deceased is a brother, Leland Frysinger ; and a sister, Ilo DeBolt.
She had worked for Muhlenkamp Accounting in Rockford and was a member of the Rockford United Methodist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher, church secretary and a member of the church choir. She was chairperson of the Rockford Christmas Walk for many years, founder of Shanes Crossing Historical Society, a member of the Rockford Fire Department Auxiliary, the Rockford Ladies In Red-Red Hat Society and a member of the Rockford Town Council for many years.
Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Rockford United Methodist Church, the Rev. Mike Berne officiating. Burial is at Riverside Cemetery, Rockford.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home, Rockford and Wednesday one hour prior to service at the church.
