J. Philip Moore
J. Philip Moore, 87, 118 N. Walnut St., Celina, died at 11:22 a.m. April 8, 2008, at Mercer County Community Hospital, Coldwater.
He was born Nov. 1, 1920, in College Corner, to Rueben and Bessie Flora Moore. He married Ann Buttery, who died Nov. 30, 2000.
Survivors are three daughters, Pam (Fred) Hirschfeld and Karen (Bill) Werntz, all of Celina, and Susan (Lee) Simon, Salem; 13 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two brothers, Kenneth and Roger; and a sister Margirette.
He worked as a teacher at Celina High School for 30 years and founded the former WMER radio station, now known as WKKI, Celina. He was a member of Celina American Legion and was a U.S. Navy veteran serving in the South Pacific.
Services are 4 p.m. Saturday at Cisco Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Randy McKinney officiating. Burial is at North Grove Cemetery, Celina.
Calling is 2-4 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with military rites following the service.
