Light snow is expected to develop across the area after midnight, shifting to the southeast through the predawn hours. This band of light snow will affect the region by the Thursday morning commute, eventually pushing south of the area by mid- morning. Minor snow accumulations of less than an inch are expected, but cold ground conditions will allow for quick accumulation on any untreated surfaces. The main impacts are expected to be reduced visibilities and some slick spots on untreated surfaces. Motorists should exercise caution. Plan extra time for the Thursday morning commute.

Doris Kuenning
Doris L. Kuenning, 6 Eastmoor Court, New Bremen, died at 3:10 a.m. April 27, 2008, at Otterbein St. Marys Retirement Community.
She was born April 29, 1923, in Bronx, N.Y. She was the daughter of Gustav and Henriette Wischhusen Heidgred. On May 20, 1944, she married Thomas E. Kuenning, who died Dec. 7, 2002.
Surviving are three sons; a daughter; two sisters; a brother; eight grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at a later date and a full obituary will appear at that time.
Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home, New Bremen is in charge of arrangements.
Alga A. Bruey, 104, formerly of state Route 705, Yorkshire, died at 12 a.m. April 26, 2008, at The Gardens at St. Henry, where he had resided since 2004. [More]
