Displaying their Law Day essay awards during a Thursday ceremony at Mercer County Common Pleas Court are second-place winner Emily Grieshop, left, and first-place winner Alexis Hoying, both of Coldwater High School. The essay contest, sponsored by the Mercer County Bar Association, drew nearly 40 entries from seventh-, eighth- and ninth-graders from throughout the county. A luncheon followed the ceremony conducted by Judge Jeffrey Ingraham. Third-place honors went to David Giesige of Celina City Schools.
