D&B Smokin' BBQ of Celina for the second year in a row took top honors at the Ribfest, held Saturday at the Mercer County Fairgrounds. D&B (David Green and Butch Suchland) won all four awards - the judges' choice for best ribs and best sauce and the people's choice for best ribs and best sauce. The festival, which started with a 5K at noon lasted until around 11 p.m., with a packed crowd most of the evening. There also was a rib-eating contest amongst members of the Mercer County Fire Association, with Celina firefighter Jeff "Bacon" Garman sweeping top honors. Garman polished off the most ribs in the 3-minute competition.
