Hilda York
Hilda L. York, 92, of Russia died at 8:45 p.m. May 21, 2008, at her home.
She was born Sept. 13, 1915, in Newport to Frank J. and Emma Boerger Borchers. On May 14, 1938, she married Benjamin C. York, who died May 31, 1978.
Surviving are five sons, David (Bonnie), Dennis (Trudy), Stephen (Bonnie) and Carl (Elizabeth), all of Russia, and James (Ann) of Versailles; two daughters, Rosalind (Charles) Olson, Bloomington, Minn., and Kathleen (Robert) Frey, Versailles; five brothers, Orville and James Borchers, both of Versailles, Richard Borchers, Newport, Alfred Borchers, Fairborn, and Cyril Borchers, Centerville; two sisters, Mary Ann Meyer, Coldwater, and Norma Reardon, Middletown; 33 grandchildren and 77 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are three brothers, Urban, Paul and Kenneth Borchers, and two sisters, Frieda Monnin and Betty Hibner.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Remy Catholic Church and St. Anne's Sodality, both of Russia, and the Catholic Ladies of Columbia.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church, the Rev. Frank Amberger officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Sunday and 9-10 a.m. Monday at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home, Versailles.
