Bernadette Keller
Bernadette M. "Bernie" Keller, 90, of Jefferson St., Maria Stein, died at 4 p.m. July 13, 2008, at the Heritage Manor Nursing, Minster, where she had resided for the past four years.
She was born Dec. 1, 1917, in Maria Stein to Henry and Agnes Fullenkamp Streacker. On April 26, 1939, she married Aloys J. Keller, who died Sept. 27, 1987.
Survivors are three sons, James (Rose Ann), Maria Stein, Thomas (Jaifei), Defiance, and Daniel (Mary Ann), New Bremen; a brother, Leo (Salome) Streaker, Englewood; four sisters, Antoinette Schlater, Sidney, Johanna Marbaugh, Celina, Mary (Ed) Phlipot, New Bremen, and Rose Seitz, Coldwater; 10 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are three brothers-in-law, Herbert Schlater, Don Marbaugh and Carl Seitz.
A homemaker, she was a member of the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and its ladies sodality. She was a past church sacristan and a member of the Knights of St. John Auxiliary, all in Maria Stein.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church, the Rev. Gene Schnipke officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery.
Calling is 3-8 Wednesday and 9-10 a.m. Thursday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster.
