John Labig
John P. Labig, 70, of Greenville, died at 7:30 a.m., Aug. 17, 2008, at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton. He died of injuries sustained in a farm tractor accident on Aug. 7.
He was born in Vandalia, to Ralph E. and Pauline Wehneman Labig. On Dec. 7, 1957, he married Carol L. Riegle, who survives.
Other survivors are a son, Scott (Risé), Greenville; a daughter, Sarina (Nelson) Ball, Covington, Ky.; a sister, Janice Labig, Dayton; a stepbrother, John (Barbara) Schlimmer, Greenville; two stepsisters, Marilyn (Gene) Dohme, Piqua, and Shirley (John) Huddle, Versailles; and two grandchildren.
Deceased is a stepmother, Dorothy Labig.
He retired from the former New Idea in Coldwater and had spent most of his life farming. He was a member of the Salem Church of God in Dayton, and the church choir. He was a 1955 graduate of Versailles High School.
Services are 10 a.m. Thursday at the Ansonia First Church of God, the Revs. Lee Wallace and Paul Strozier officiating. Burial is at the Greenville Township Memorial Gardens.
Calling is 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville.
