Light snow is expected to develop across the area after midnight, shifting to the southeast through the predawn hours. This band of light snow will affect the region by the Thursday morning commute, eventually pushing south of the area by mid- morning.
Minor snow accumulations of less than an inch are expected, but cold ground conditions will allow for quick accumulation on any untreated surfaces. The main impacts are expected to be reduced visibilities and some slick spots on untreated surfaces.
Motorists should exercise caution. Plan extra time for the Thursday morning commute.

Shirley Byerley
Shirley "Shirt" Byerley, 73, 231 Jack Oak Point Road, St. Marys, died at 8 p.m. Sept. 7, 2008, at her home of complications from Lou Gehrig's Disease.
She was born July 14, 1935, in St. Marys, to Arthur and Viola Osterfeld Klosterman. On Nov. 10, 1956, she married Dewaine Byerley, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Michael (Barbara), Middleburg, Fla.; a daughter, Beth (Steve) Reciniti, Oak Ridge, N.C.; nine brothers, Don Klosterman, Lima; Tom (Barb) Klosterman, Celina, Bernard (Carol), Bob (Ronda), John (Cindy), Jerry (Delilah), Dick (Catherine) and Dave Klosterman, all of St. Marys, and Dale (Marcia) Klosterman, Van Wert; seven sisters, Betty Lengerich, Marie "Mert" (John) Humphries, Chrissie (Howard) Chunnic and Judy (David) Fuller, all of St. Marys, Jean (Donald) Boes, Gahanna, Kay (John) Seibert, Coldwater, and Becky (Denny) Link, Bethel; and two grandchildren.
A sister, Carolyn Hawkins, is deceased.
A 1953 graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School, she was an Avon representative for 30 years and a homemaker. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and its Altar Rosary Sodality, also of St. Marys.
Funeral Mass is 11 a.m. Friday at the church, the Rev. Jim Seibert officiating. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery, St. Marys.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Friday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys.
