* IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

Southwest winds will increase this morning with the passage of a strong cold front. Southwest winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 40 to 45 mph expected this morning into the afternoon before diminishing toward evening.
These gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects.

John Widner
John E. Widner, 84, 608 N. Sugar St., Celina, died at 4:04 p.m. Sept. 10, 2008, at Mercer County Community Hospital, Coldwater.
He was born March 31, 1924, in St. Marys, to John A. and Minnie Swartz Widner. On March 4, 1950, he married Virginia Stover, who survives.
Other survivors are two sons, Jon (Patricia), Norfolk, Neb., and Brooks (Sherri), Wayne, Neb.; two brothers, Albert and George (Marian), all of Chapin, S.C.; two sisters, Nora (Don) Winget, Wapakoneta, and Mary Kuck, New Bremen; a sister-in-law, Betty, St. Marys; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Deceased is a brother, James.
He retired in 1979 from Electronics Supply Office, Great Lakes, Ill., and was a member and trustee of the American Legion, St. Marys. He also was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church, Celina, and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, serving on the USS Hornet and USS Enterprise as an electricians mate.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church. There is no burial.
Calling is 5-8 p.m. today and after 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the church.
