St. Marys River at Rockford.
Additional information is available at www.weather.gov/iln.
* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...St. Marys River at Rockford.
* WHEN...From this afternoon to Sunday evening.
* IMPACTS...At 13.0 feet, State Route 117 near Route 118 north of Rockford is water-covered and closed.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 10:40 AM EDT Saturday the stage was 12.9 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage this afternoon to a crest of 13.2 feet this evening. It will then fall below flood stage early tomorrow afternoon. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

Political parties agree to delay posting election signs locally

Local Democratic and Republican party leaders have agreed not to put up any political signs until Sept. 15.

Bill Sell, chairman of the Mercer County Democratic party, said he and Mercer County Republican party Chairman Del Kramer decided it would be in the best interest of the county, though there is no official ban against it.

"People typically start putting up signs in August, and they get blown down or vandalized and can create a poor image," Sell said recently.

Sell said this is merely an agreement between the two local parties and there is no consequences for residents who do put up signs.

"There's nothing to keep people from violating it, we just felt it would better suit our town and county," Sell said.
