Don Brown
Don Brown, 84, 109 Laura Street, New Knoxville, died at 8:37 a.m. Sept. 16, 2008, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.
He was born Oct. 28, 1923, in Celina, to Rie and Ethel Snyder Brown. On June 4, 1949, he married Winona Howell, who survives.
Other survivors are two sons, Dennis, Celina, and Randy (Charlene), New Knoxville; a daughter, Vanessa (Tom) Knostman, New Knoxville; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He owned and operated Brown's Service Center, New Knoxville, from 1971-1997, and was a member the First Church of the Nazarene, St. Marys, and the American Legion, New Knoxville. He graduated in 1942 from Celina High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in World War II.
Services are 2 p.m. Friday at Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, St. Marys, the Rev. Tim Smith officiating. Burial is at Elm Grove Cemetery.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
