Taking care of America's symbol
Photo by Shelley Grieshop/The Daily Standard

Fourth-grader Mitchel Schwieterman carefully handles the American flag as he and classmate Heather Heitkamp attempt to properly fold it during a Veterans' Day event held Friday at St. Henry Elementary School. Nineteen students, under the direction of their teacher, Michael Eyink, performed a parade and told the younger students about the history of the U.S. flag. They also educated the children on the proper care of the flag and concluded the celebration with the song "God Bless the USA."
