An Arctic front will sweep east across the region between 5 AM and 9 AM. A few hours of snow showers and west wind gusts of 35 to 40 mph will occur with the frontal passage. While any accumulations will generally be a half inch or less, some challenging travel conditions may develop given, rapidly changing road conditions and visibilities, strong wind and cold temperatures. These conditions will impact the morning commute. Use caution and allow for extra time to reach your destination.

* WHERE...Portions of east central Indiana and central and west central Ohio.
* WHEN...From 7 AM this morning to 10 AM EST Tuesday.
* IMPACTS...The cold wind chills could result in hypothermia if precautions are not taken. Wind chill values can lead to hypothermia with prolonged exposure.

Rita Baltes
Rita Catherine Baltes, 83, of Versailles, died at 7:13 p.m. Nov. 10, 2008, at Mercer County Community Hospital, Coldwater.
She was born Feb. 16, 1925, in the New Bremen-Minster area, to Joseph and Catherine Dahlinghaus Kemper. On June 25, 1952, she married William J. Baltes Jr., who survives.
Other survivors are four daughters, Alice (Joseph) DeMange, Russia, Edie (Jeff) Bergman, Fort Loramie, Barbara (Kenneth) Mertz, Versailles, and Bernice (Larry) Helman, Sidney; two sons, Gerald (Polly) and Marvin (Nichole), all of Versailles; three brothers, Jerry (Bernardetta) Kemper, Osgood, and Wilbert Kemper and Joseph (Shirley) Kemper Jr., all of Maria Stein; two sisters-in-law, Viola Kemper, Chickasaw, and Georgiana Kemper, Versailles; 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two brothers, Werner and Linus Kemper.
She was a homemaker and member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Frenchtown, and its St. Ann's Sodality and Daughters of Isabella. She also was a member of the Maria Stein American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
Funeral Mass is 11 a.m. Friday at the church, the Rev. David Vincent officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Thursday and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Friday at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home, Versailles.
