Light snow is expected to develop across the area after midnight, shifting to the southeast through the predawn hours. This band of light snow will affect the region by the Thursday morning commute, eventually pushing south of the area by mid- morning.
Minor snow accumulations of less than an inch are expected, but cold ground conditions will allow for quick accumulation on any untreated surfaces. The main impacts are expected to be reduced visibilities and some slick spots on untreated surfaces.
Motorists should exercise caution. Plan extra time for the Thursday morning commute.

Edwin Nickol
Edwin D. Nickol, 63, of Huber Heights, died at 9:16 p.m. Dec. 1, 2008, at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton. Death was due to natural causes.
He was born March 28, 1945, in Greenville to Edwin H. and Mary A. Printz Nickol.
Surviving are two sisters, Miriam (Ed) Paulus, Norman, Okla., and Myrna (Norman) Gigandet, Versailles; five brothers Fred (Iris), John (Ramona), and Ramon (Rosie) all of Versailles, Van (Marie), and Neil (Peggy), all of Tucson, Ariz.; and a sister-in-law, Hazel, Versailles.
Deceased are an infant sister, Margie, and a brother-in-law, Delaine Gehle.
He attended Versailles High School and worked at Hauer Music Company in Dayton for 25 years. He formerly taught music at Marion Local, Brookville and Stebbins schools. He graduated from Eastern Kentucky University in Bowling Green, Ky., where he was a drum major. He was the Director of the Ohio Valley British Brass Band.
Memorial services are 11 a.m. Monday at the Versailles Christian Church, the Revs. Dennis Wheeler and Kim Katterheinrich officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
Calling is 10-11 a.m. Monday at the church.
Contributions can be made to the Versailles High School Music Department.
