Jane Diller watches as Coldwater youngsters attempt cartwheels during an after-school fitness program held each Thursday in The Pound (the middle school gymnasium). The Kids on Track program was organized by high school senior Jen Kahlig, who voluntarily sought to find a way to motivate students to stay physically active and promote a healthy lifestyle. The classes began last week and continue each Thursday through April 16 for kindergarten through fifth-graders. Activities include gymnastics, wrestling, dance, softball, kickboxing and others led by fellow students and trained instructors. Kahlig also distributes nutrition hand-outs for parents.
