Vernon Bollenbacher
Vernon C. Bollenbacher, 98, of Geneva, Ind., died at 4:35 p.m. April 8, 2009, at Adams County Hospital, Decatur, Ind.
He was born Sept. 1, 1910, in Mercer County, to Daniel F. and Laura Baker Bollenbacher. On Oct. 26. 1929, he married Creva Branstetter, who died April 7, 2005.
Surviving are three grandchildren, Patty (Don) Thees, Gene (June) Bollenbacher, and Roger (Victoria) Bollenbacher, all of Celina; nine great-grandchildren; and 18 great-great grandchildren.
Deceased are a son, Paul Bollenbacher, and his wife, Anna; a brother, Glen Bollenbacher; and a sister, Leota Bollenbacher.
He was a farmer and had attended Mercer County schools. He was a member of Landfair United Methodist Church, Celina.
Services are 10 a.m. Saturday at Downing & Glancy Funeral Home, Geneva, the Rev. Paul Brown officiating. Pallbearers to Swamp College Cemetery, Celina, are Scott and Jamie Bollenbacher, Jeremy Brewster, Doug Thees, Keith Vian, Kevin Crites, Steven Bentz and Jesse Gilliand.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
