Mark Sheffer
Mark B. Sheffer, 49, 6676 E. State Road 26, Portland, Ind., died at 11:26 p.m. May 11, 2009, at Jay County Hospital, Portland, of injuries sustained in a backhoe accident at his residence.
He was born Sept. 3, 1959, in Celina to Ivan and Norma McKibben Sheffer. On Sept. 2, 1985, he married Linda Zimmerman, who survives.
Other survivors are a stepson, Steve (April) Ludy, Portland; a brother, Greg Sheffer, Portland; a sister Pam (Steve) Ray, Portland; and three stepgrandchildren.
Deceased is a stepson, Brad Ludy.
He worked at Honda of Ottawa and operated Sheffer Brothers Auto Sales with his brother. He was a graduate of Jay County High School, Portland, and a member of Gold Wing Road Riders Association Chapter T. Jay County and the American Motorcycle Association.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at Brockman-Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery, the Rev. Flint Redwine officiating. Burial is at Spring Hill Cemetery, Fort Recovery.
Calling is 3-8 p.m. Thursday and 9:30 a.m. until the service Friday at the funeral home.
