* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...St. Marys River at Rockford.
* WHEN...From this afternoon to Sunday evening.
* IMPACTS...At 13.0 feet, State Route 117 near Route 118 north of Rockford is water-covered and closed.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 10:40 AM EDT Saturday the stage was 12.9 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage this afternoon to a crest of 13.2 feet this evening. It will then fall below flood stage early tomorrow afternoon. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

Eugene Gross
Eugene "Abie" W. Gross, 78, of Coldwater, died June 3, 2009, at Briarwood Village, Coldwater.
He was born June 15, 1930, in Coldwater to Adam and Catherine Braun Gross. On October 3, 1975 he married A. Blanche Shaffner Behm-Gross, who survives.
Other survivors are two sons, Jeff (Karen) Behm and Fred and Cathy Behm, both of Coldwater; two daughters, Cynthia (Jack) Naseman, St. Marys, and Sue (Mark) Miller, Celina, brothers and sisters: Louie Gross, Coldwater, Rita Heyne, Russia, Mary Ann Severt, Coldwater, and Vince (Alfreda) Gross, Coldwater: 16 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.
Deceased are brothers and sisters-in-law, Herb and Madonna Gross, Clarence and Becky Gross and Cy and Birdie Gross; a sister, Viola Bonifas; a sister-in-law, Flora Gross; brothers-in-law, Bob Heyne and Alvin Severt.
He worked 26 years at the former New Idea Plant in Coldwater and retired from the Mercer County Auditor's Office Department of Weights and Measures. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, the American Legion, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles, all in Coldwater. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Korea.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. Richard Walling officiating. Burial will be in St. Elizabeth Cemetery, in Coldwater.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Friday and 9-10 a.m. Saturday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater.
