Rita Schmiesing
Rita E. Schmiesing, 87, 1231 Mercer Auglaize County Line Road, Minster, died at 1 a.m. June 28, 2009, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Minster.
She was born March 18, 1922, in St. Patrick, to Charles and Mary Luthman Liening On April 18, 1942, she married Urban M Schmiesing, who died Jan. 9, 1999.
Surviving are her children, Nancy (Paul) Broering, St. Henry, Marilyn (Leonard) Holdheide, St. Rose, Patricia (Vernon) Grieshop, Osgood, Ronald Schmiesing, Egypt, Henry Schmiesing, Egypt; a sister, Alberta Albert Wehrman, Egypt; 19 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a sister, Henrietta and her husband, Al Prenger; a brother, Leo and his wife, Vera Liening; and two grandchildren.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Egypt. She was a Caring Minster of St. Augustine/St. Joseph Parishes, and a member of St. Anne's Ladies Sodality.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church, the Rev. Rick Nieberding officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Wednesday and 9-10 a.m. Thursday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster.
