Southerly winds have begun to increase in strength late this evening. Some gusts of 35-45 mph will be possible tonight through the early morning hours. Be cautious if driving, especially on east-to-west oriented roads.

Festival opening event

A crowd of hundreds gathers on Diamond 8 at Coldwater Memorial Park to watch the movie "Mall Cop" on an inflatable screen Thursday night. The event was one of several that kicked off festivities for this year's 49th annual Coldwater Community Picnic. The fun continues today with a fireworks display at 10 p.m. at the Coldwater Mall. Rides, games and food, as well as many other activities, are slated at the village park on Saturday and Sunday. A parade is set for 1 p.m. Sunday. More details can be found at coldwaterpicnic.com.
