Linda Benanzer
Linda Benanzer, 62, West Park Street Fort Loramie, died at 6:50 p.m. Sept. 22, 2009, at her home. Death was due to natural causes.
She was born Sept. 13, 1947, in Sidney to Alphonso and Jeanette Pleiman Barhorst. Her mother survives in Fort Loramie. On July 21, 1965, she married Leroy Benanzer, who died May 20, 2004.
Other survivors are four children, Lori Slonkosky, Sidney, Kaye (Gary) Lengerich, Maplewood, Tony (April) Benanzer, Montezuma, and Lynn (Marc) Rue, Jackson Center; two brothers, Mark (Kathy) Barhorst, Fort Loramie, and Gary (Delores) Barhorst, Wapakoneta; brothers-in-laws and sisters-in-law, Judith (Victor) Schulze, McCartyville, Mary (Richard) Berning and Ruth (Edward) Schulze, all of Newport, Agnes (John) Fisher, Wapakoneta, Rose Muhlenkamp, Tipp City, Louise (Rex) Frey, Fort Loramie and Joseph (Pam) Benanzer, Sidney; and nine grandchildren.
Deceased is a brother-in-law, Bill Muhlenkamp.
She retired from Fair Haven Shelby County Home in 2007 and she and her late husband owned and operated the Pemberton Country Market from 1979 through 1988. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church and its St. Ann's Ladies Sodality, Fort Loramie American Legion Auxiliary, Minster Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary and the local quilters guild. She graduated from Anna High School in 1965.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church, the Rev. Steven Shoup officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery.
Calling is 3-8 p.m. Sunday and 9-10 a.m. Monday at Gehret Funeral Home, Fort Loramie
