Charles Bretz
Charles D. " Chuck" Bretz, 89, 102 S. Main St., Fort Recovery, died at 1:50 p.m. Sept. 28, 2009, at Mercer County Community Hospital, Coldwater.
He was born Aug. 15,1920, in Harrisville, Ind., to Emerson and Ethel Woods Bretz. In 1946, he married Margaret "Peg" Holdeman, who survives.
Other survivors are a daughter, Cheryl (Ron) Koppelman, Fort Recovery; a son, Dave (Peg) Bretz, Fort Recovery; a brother, Larry (Betty) Bretz, Covington; five grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a son, Greg; and a sister, Elnora Stoltz.
He retired as a car salesman for the former Ron Garrett Chevrolet, Fort Recovery, and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Fort Recovery, American Legion, Celina and Loyal Order of Moose Lodge, Celina. He also was a member of Fort Recovery United Methodist Church and a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in World War II.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Brockman-Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery, the Rev. Allen Brown officiating. Burial is at Spring Hill Cemetery, Fort Recovery, with military graveside honors conducted by the American Legion, Fort Recovery.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and 9:30 until time of service Thursday at the funeral home.
