The water in the Wabash River at state Route 29 on Monday was a murky black color after an estimated 5,000 gallons of chicken manure and egg wash water from the James Wenning poultry farm got into the river. The Ohio EPA said the mixture came from a digester on the property after a pump quit working and it got into Fort Creek, which flows into the Wabash.
