* IMPACTS...Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

Bertha Harting
Bertha J. Harting, 91, 3818 Philothea Road, Philothea, died at 10:45 a.m. Oct. 12, 2009, at Briarwood Village, Coldwater.
She was born March 20, 1918, in Philothea to Bernard and Catherine Dues Fortkamp. On Dec. 28, 1957, she married Carl Harting Sr., who survives.
Other survivors are a daughter, Ann (Galen) Harrod, Rossburg; a son, Carl (Mary Ann) Harting Jr., Philothea; a sister, Agnes Puthoff, St. Henry; a sister-in-law, Jean Fortkamp, Coldwater; a brother-in-law, George Mescher, Dayton; and five grandchildren.
Deceased are two sisters, Clara Schweickart and Martha Mescher, and four brothers, Joe, August, Carl and Linus Fortkamp.
She was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church, Philothea, and the Ladies Rosary Altar Sodality of the church. Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Marys Catholic Church, the Rev. Larry Hemmelgarn officiating. Burial is at St. Marys Cemetery, Philothea.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Wednesday and 9-10 a.m. Thursday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater.
