Light snow is expected to develop across the area after midnight, shifting to the southeast through the predawn hours. This band of light snow will affect the Tri-State region by the Thursday morning commute, eventually pushing south of the area by mid- morning.
Minor snow accumulations of less than an inch are expected, but cold ground conditions will allow for quick accumulation on any untreated surfaces. The main impacts are expected to be reduced visibilities and some slick spots on untreated surfaces.
Motorists should exercise caution. Plan extra time for the Thursday morning commute.

Thomas Heitbrink
Thomas H. Heitbrink, 84, 5 W. Wayne St., Chickasaw, died at 5 a.m. Oct. 18, 2009, at Good Samaritan Hospital, Dayton.
He was born Dec. 21, 1924, in Egypt to Anthony and Josephine Dahlinghaus Heitbrink. On Sept. 4, 1948, he married Betty Meiring, who died Aug. 17, 2008.
Surviving are two children, Janet Nelson, St. Sebastian; and Robert (Marian) Heitbrink, Chickasaw; a sister, Lorena Vagedes, Philothea; and three sisters-in-law, Mary, Velma and Bertha Heitbrink; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are siblings, Cornelius Heitbrink, Isabelle Heuker, Mary Ann Vehorn and Cletus and Harold Heitbrink.
He retired from Chickasaw Garage as mechanic and manager after 64 years. He was a member of Precious Blood Catholic Church, Chickasaw, former member of the Chickasaw Fire Department, past Chickasaw village council member, mowed the Chickasaw ball diamonds for 15 years and past member of Pontiac Oakland Club.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church, the Rev. Gene Schnipke officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Tuesday and 9-10 a.m. Wednesday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster.
