John "Ed" Glass
John E. "Ed" Glass, 89, 9130 state Route 197, Celina, died at 7:45 p.m. Nov. 20, 2009, at his residence.
He was born April 12, 1920, to Walter and Hilda Dohse Glass. In 1957, he married Verna Now, who died Sept. 19, 2007.
Surviving are a son, Dan (Rosalie) Preston, Rockwell, N.C.; a daughter, Barbara Reder, Celina; and four grandchildren.
Deceased are brothers Donald and Alvin; a sister-in-law, Vivian; and a son-in-law, Jim Reder.
A 1939 graduate of Memorial High School, he was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company and was a farmer. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.
Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday a Lehman-Hogenkamp-Dzendzel Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Tim Clutter officiating. Burial will follow in Mercer Memory Gardens with military honors by the American Legion and VFW, both of Celina.
Calling is one hour before service at the funeral home.
