House bill may make smallmouth bass an Ohio symbol
ST. MARYS - The fifth-graders at Holy Rosary Catholic School are as feisty as the fish they've asked legislators to choose as Ohio's newest state symbol.

Board of Elections
Mercer County Board of Elections members Owen Hall and Mark Uhlenhake have been re-appointed to another term by their political parties.
The four-year appointments of Uhlenhake, a Democrat, and board chairman Owen Hall, a Republican, were set to expire at the end of February.
Mercer County Soil and Water Conservation District board members were updated on two ongoing tile replacement projects during their regular meeting recently, technician Matt Heckler reported.
In response to the decrease in patients with flu-like symptoms, Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys, has rescinded the visitation restriction for children younger than 14.
For the second straight Friday night, the Celina boys basketball team will play a Western Buckeye League opponent that plays the opposite style of the Bulldogs.
