Declan Saintignon
Declan D. Saintignon, 49, 15429 Glynwood-New Knoxville Road, St. Marys, died at 7:33 p.m. Feb. 8, 2010, at the Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center, following a 7-month battle with cancer.
He was born Aug. 23, 1960, in St. Marys, to Eldon and Bonnie Ayers Saintignon, who survive in St. Marys. On Oct. 22, 1983, he married Della Reier, who also survives.
Other survivors are three children, David, Diana and Dustyn Saintignon, all of St. Marys; four siblings, Debbie (Morey) Drew, Van Wert, Dan (Tina) Saintignon, Fayettville, Ark., Diana (John) Sudman, Wapakoneta, and Doug (Paula) Saintignon, Beavercreek; a mother-in-law, Thelma Reier, St. Marys; two sisters-in-law, Althea (John) Clugston, Cromwell, Ind., and Ellen (Kevin) Paul, New Knoxville; and a brother-in-law, Bernard (Deb) Reier, Madison, Ala.
Deceased is his father-in-law, Leonard Reier.
He was a new product design coordinator at Crown Equipment Corp., New Bremen. A 1978 graduate of Memorial High School, he earned a bachelors of science degree in electrical engineering from Indiana-Purdue University, Fort Wayne, Ind. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and Holy Rosary Catholic Church, both of St. Marys, and was an Eagle Scout.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. Anthony Cutcher officiating. Burial is at Gethsemane Cemetery, St. Marys.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Friday and after 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys.
