Scattered snow showers will become more widespread through this afternoon and then likely linger into this evening before tapering off into tonight.
The snow showers will be capable of causing brief periods of reduced visibilities, especially this afternoon. In addition, brisk conditions will prevail with west winds gusting in the 30 to 40 mph range today.
Light snow accumulations will be possible, mainly on grassy and elevated surfaces. While roads will remain mostly wet during the daytime hours, some slick spots may develop toward sunset and beyond as temperatures drop below freezing.
Please be prepared for the changing weather conditions today and the potential for reduced visibilities when driving.

Lawerence Slone, Sr.
Lawrence M. Slone, Sr., 68, 04423 Auglaize Co. Road 33-A, St. Marys, died at 6:20 a.m. April 2, 2010, at his home.
He was born May 4, 1941, in Pippa Passes, Ky., to Amos and Sarah Slone Slone. On Sept. 29, 1962, he married Billie Jean Benson, who survives.
Also surviving are seven children, Carolyn Sue (John) Monty, Seminole, Fla., Shelly Cavinder, Clearwater, Fla., Larry (Sarah) Slone, Jr., Bluffton, Joe Slone, George Slone and Jessica (Mike) Bell, all of St. Marys, and Jennifer Slone, Rockford; a brother, John (Patricia) Slone, St. Marys; a sister, Nancy (Bill) Montague, Celina; a granddaughter whom he raised, Heather (Michael) Bonifas, St. Marys; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a two sons, Lawrence Slone and Todd Slone, and a granddaughter.
He was a retired truck driver for Lancaster Oil Co. in St. Petersburg, Fla., and a production worker at St. Marys Foundry Co. He attended first Weslyean Church in St. Marys and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Korean conflict.
Rites are 1 p.m. Wednesday at Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home in St. Marys, the Rev. Arthur Slone officiating. Military rites will be conducted following the service.
Calling is 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
