The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Mary Sawmiller
Mary L. Sawmiller, 86, Spencerville, died at 4:05 p.m. May 10, 2010, at Roselawn Manor Nursing Home in Spencerville.
She was born Feb. 23, 1924, in St. Marys, to John J. and Nevillia E. Apgar Hunsaker. On Dec. 21, 1946, she married Kenneth W. Sawmiller, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Jerry W. (Cherylee) Sawmiller, Spencerville; a daughter, Patricia S. (Ted) Baldwin, Van Wert; seven sisters, Rosemarie Moser, Lima, Nellie M. Hamilton, Mendon, June M. Clutter, Rockford, Harriet E. (George) Chiles, St. Marys, Helen A. (Kenneth) Eckhart, Celina; Wanda M. Miller, New Bremen, and Juanita Dalrymple, Lima; a brother, Harold E. (Helen) Hunsaker, Celina; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Deceased is a brother, John James Hunsaker; and five brothers-in-law, Warren Moser, J.R. Hamilton, Dale Clutter, Clyde Miller Jr. and Jay Dalrymple.
She was a member of the Monticello United Brethren in Christ Church in Spencerville. She joined the Navy Waves during World War II and was serving at the Pentagon when the war ended. She worked 10 years at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in St. Marys in production inspection and worked on the family farm.
Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville, the Revs. Andrew J. Atkins and Carey G. Knittle officiating. Burial will be at a later date in the New Salem Cemetery, south of Monticello.
Calling is 5-8 p.m. Thursday and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Memorials can be made to Monticello Church or the Alzheimers Association.
