The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Barbara Hicks
Barbara Hicks, 67, Coldwater, died at 8:57 a.m. May 19, 2010, at Mercer County Community Hospital in Coldwater.
She was born Oct. 12, 1942, in Union City, Ind., to John and Lorena Lindley Hotmire. On April 2, 1965, she married Harry Hicks, Jr., who died Feb. 6, 2004.
Surviving are seven children, Steven Hicks, San Antonio, Texas, Robert Hicks, New Iberia, La., Jonathan (Mary) Hicks, Lusby, Md., Esther (Chris) Hicks-Walczak, Orange, Calif., Jackie (Rogers) Courville, Laurelville, La., Jennifer (Lynn) Brewer, Virginia Beach, Va., and Kelli (Tony) McNeil, Fort Recovery; two siblings, Edwin L. Hotmire, California, and Jane (James) Reed, Coldwater; 24 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a son, Joseph Hicks, who died in 1996.
She was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Coldwater, where she was a former lector, Eucharistic minister and CCD teacher. She was a Hospice volunteer and worked at the Wright State Branch Library in Celina.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church, the Rev. Richard Walling officiating. Burial is at St. Elizabeth Cemetery in Coldwater.
Calling is 2-7 p.m. Sunday and 9-10 a.m. Monday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Coldwater.
