Bridge work
Photo by Janie Southard/The Daily Standard

After a weather delay last week, Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) crews spent Monday night pouring concrete on the first of four new bridge decks that makeup the overpass at U.S. 33 and state Route 29 in St. Marys. More than 70 cement trucks were lined up on one of the eastbound lanes under the bridge, keeping the cement pump stocked to pour more than 710 yards of concrete. Crews worked 10 hours spreading cement. The bridge closed in mid-March to repair the decks and is on schedule to open mid-summer.
